Chad Cross '10
recently took a new job as an Account Executive with
Solution Pros, a technology integrator and ongoing
IT support resource, in Overland Park. Chad's
new company specializes in voice, data, and video
solutions for small and medium-sized business,
educational and governmental organizations.
This is definitely a very exciting time in Chad's
life as he starts a new chapter!

Shaune Parker '08 was married on August 15,
2009.

Bob Lamb '50 is a retired Naval Aviator
having flown in the Korean War and Indo-China during
the French Vietnam War. He retired in 1974,
moved to Florida, and sold real estate for 20 years.
He now lives in Cleveland, TN where he sells real
estate with his daughter. Bob and his wife,
JoAnn Jones Lamb (Alpha Chi '51), attend classes for
seniors at local Lee University. JoAnn has
taught piano for all of their 57 years of marriage
and both are very active in all music programs in
their area and continue to sing in church choirs.

Jack Metzger '79 is working as the regional
manager for TNT Fireworks after selling his business
in 2002. He and his wife (Ann) have been
married for 29 years and Jack spends free time
officiating college basketball games. His
oldest son (Kyle) played baseball for Baker before
graduating in 2007.

a Masters in Higher Education from the University of
Missouri-Kansas City in May.

Dr. Kevin Fitzgerald '03 recently finished
chiropractic school and has joined Swickard
Chiropractic Clinic near 151st and Antioch in
Overland Park. He's accepting appointments so

Doug Chapman '75 is now coaching high school
softball at Ironwood Ridge HS in Tucson, Arizona.
His daughter, Rachel, is playing D1 softball at
Kennesaw State University in Atlanta.

Doug Lunsford '85 has now been married to his
wife for 19 years. They have a son who is a
junior in high school and a daughter in the 8th
grade. He is currently working for U.S. Bank
as a collection manager.

Bill Speer '64 and his wife Pearl are now
traveling throughout the year in their motor home
and spending their winters on the beach in Port
Arkansas, Texas.

Ken Wells '85 stays busy with his four children,
Megan (18), Katie (17), Emily (15), and Luke (13).
He is currently working in San Francisco, CA as an
Assistant Regional Director for the Federal Deposit
Insurance Corporation. Ken is responsible for the
Phoenix and Orange County field offices and oversees
the administrative function of hiring, firing, and
promoting individual for the SF regional office.

Steven Terrill '78 is the
Director of Sports in the Atlantic States region for
HKS Architects in Richmond, Virginia. He and his
wife, Cea Ann, bought a new home last spring.
Finally, his oldest daughter, Lauren, is a senior at
the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, while
their youngest is still living at home but is
planning to attend college next fall.

Mark Schusterman '80 is the
acting Athletic Director at Gulliver Prep in Miami,
Florida. In January of 2009, Mark will be inducted
into the Florida Athletic Coaches Association Hall
of Fame.
Joe Jrolf '04 has joined the
Marine Corps and is currently a Lance Corporal with
the 24th Marines out of Kansas City. Joe was
activated in October and is set to deploy to Ramadi
in April 2009. When he returns from the war, Joe
plans to attend Officer Candidacy School and become
a Marine officer.
Matt Hiss '08 has opened his
own financial planning practice and is in the
process of establishing a branch in Atwood, Kansas.
Matt has also recently purchased and completely
remodeled the outside of his first home in Great
Bend.
James Reyes '04 has been
working for Cerner Corporation in Kansas City for
about five years now and is the team lead of the
system engineer group. James also coaches football
at nearby St. Pius X High School in KCMO.
Jarrod Steffens '04 and his
wife Sarah (Jensen, ZTA '04) celebrated the birth of
their first son, Luke, last fall. Jarrod is now a
full-time physical education teacher at Grain Valley
High School in Missouri and is also the head
wrestling coach.
Tanner Purdum '07 is now a
graduate assistant for the Baker football team while
he works towards finishing his Master's Degree in
the Spring of 2009.
Connor Treanor '04 recently
completed his first semester of graduate school at
KU where he is earning his Master's Degree in
Architecture.
Sean Franklin '90 joined the
U.S. Marshalls a few years ago and is now living
outside Kansas City.
Eric Sherpy '01 is now married
and lives in Overland Park where he works as the
Western Regional Sales Manager for Berry Plastics.

recently opened his own vitalistic chiropractic
practice just outside of Dallas. He even has a

David Slaby '95 recently moved
to St. Louis where he is now working for Paule,
Camazine & Blumenthal, P.C.
Dave Layman '82 has been
married to his wife, Beth, for 21 years and they
have NINE children! Dave is the Vice President and
General Manager for Hillyard, Inc., a manufacturer
and distributor of cleaning solutions and equipment.
Richard Sutton '82 recently
celebrated his 20th wedding anniversary. He has
four daughters - a senior, freshman, fourth grader
and first grader - and they consume all of this
"free time". Richard works as Vice President for
Security Bank of Kansas City.
Tyler Hibler '05 graduated
from the University of Kansas School of Law in May
2008. After passing the Kansas Bar Exam in July
2008, Tyler is now a practicing attorney with the
firm of Wallace, Saunders, Austin, Brown, and Enochs
in Overland Park, KS. Tyler also plans to take the
Missouri Bar Exam next February.
Bill Moulden '77 and wife Barb
(Baker AXO '79) recently celebrated 30 years of
marriage with a second honeymoon in Bora Bora. Bill
marks his 31st year as a science teacher and is
serving a 3rd term on his county's Board of
Appeals. Barb is a school counselor at St. Mary's
Elementary in Annapolis, Maryland.
Blair Englehart '75 is
currently the director at MZD Advertising in
Indianapolis, one of the country's largest
advertising agencies. Prior to his term at MZD,
Blair was the owner of Englehart Dicken, Inc., a
company he sold in 2007.
Patrick Moore '77 is working
for the State of New Mexico in Las Cruces as an
environmental engineer. He is divorced with a son
who is now in high school.
Rob Pewtress '94 recently
began a new career with Greg Orscheln Transportation
in KCK. He and his wife also welcomed their first
child, Alexander Challen, in February of 2008.
John Beilmann '78 is a captain
with the Phoenix Fire Department, where he has been
for an amazing 28 years! John plans to retire in
May 2011 to spend time with his wife (Pam) and
children (Nathan, 20, and Taylor, 19).
Bryan Brutto '00 is now the
Assistant Principal and Activities Director
(A.D.) at Blue Valley Northwest High School in
nearby Overland Park, Kansas. He and his wife Kaci
(Regnier, Baker Alpha Chi) also have one daughter,
Rori (3), to keep them busy.
Trent Murphy '02 recently
moved to Washington state where he is working as an
engineer for a civil consulting firm.
Rob Maher '94 and his wife
Lisa (Smithmier, Baker Alpha Chi '96) now have two
children: Brady (5) and Allison (2). Brady has
taken up tee-ball and Allie is a human tornado!!
Lisa is selling advertising with KCWE Channel 29 in
KC while Rob is a partner with the Husch Blackwell
Sanders, LLP law firm. They are a 630 attorney
full-service law firm located in downtown Kansas
City.
Kevin Sullivan '06 has
accepted a position as a Cost Accountant with a
general contractor, CSBI, in Wichita, Kansas, where
he has been since December. It was a great
opportunity to get into another field and make a
career change. So far it has been working out for
the best!
John Chlebak '84
has been married for 24 years to his wife Lesley
(Carr, Baker Tri-Delt) and they call Rowlett, Texas
home. The couple's oldest son will graduate from KU
in the Spring of 2008. Their middle son is current
an undergraduate at Texas State University and their
youngest son is a sixth grader. John is currently
the insurance and risk manager for HOOTERS of Texas.
Joe McDonald '94 is currently
in the middle of an internal medicine residency at
KU Med School. Joe completed his MD/Ph.D. at KU Med
as well. He and his wife Mary (Cutler, Baker Zeta)
have two children: Will (9) just completed his
second year of football and Katie (6) who is a
promising young soccer player.
Kim Brooks '83 is still
running his fire and water restoration business
after 15 years. His middle daughter, Katelyn, is
now talking about attending Baker next year. Better
warn her about the Delts, Kim!
Craig Herre '77 and his wife
Joanna have celebrated 29 years of marriage. Their
son Tim is a fourth-year dental student and plans to
join dad in his family practice.
Kit Harris '96 is now the
assistant principal at nearby Baldwin High School
where he has been working for 10 years. He is also
a journalism teacher and acclaimed wrestling coach.
He and his wife - Sarah, an elementary school
teacher in Baldwin - have three children: Cael (8),
Ty (6), and Malin (2).
Reed
Black '65 and Louis Roller '62 still get
together regularly to ride bicycles. Reed has also
taken several trips, along with brother Don Thomson,
to Morocco and Spain.
Chad
Hansen '95 and his wife Kate - an attorney at
H&R Block - have two little girls: Abby (4) and Jane
(2). Chad is now a partner in a business boutique
law firm, Vincent Fontg & Hansen LLC, located on
Kansas City's Country Club Plaza.
Craig
Hansen '91 and his wife Jennifer Stone-Hansen -
a physician - have two boys: Dane and Drew. Craig
is now an orthopedic surgeon at Loess Hills
Orthopedics in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Kit
Harris '95 recently received another great
coaching honor - Kit was named the 2007 Midwest
Sectional Coach of the Year for wrestling by the
National Federation of State High School

David
Davies '82 and his wife, Sharla, now have three
children: Emily, Ian and Leah. David is the Vice
President of Stewardship for Gift Planning for the
Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Scott
Mann '58 has, after living in his hometown of
Iola, Kansas for the past 28 years, decided to
move. His new home is now Georgetown, Texas, just
north of the Austin area. However, please don't let
his kids know if they ask - there was no forwarding
address left!
Manny
Duran '01 is currently living in Orange County,
California where he is working for Integra as a
Medical Device Rep. Good to hear from you, Manny!
Lawrence Gray '66 is a full Professor of
Political Science at John Cabot University in Rome.
Lawrence unfortunately had to transfer from B.U.
before graduating, but went on to attend Tulane
University and later The Johns Hopkins University
where he earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in International
Economics. He has been living in Italy a majority
of his life where he has remained active in economic
and political consulting for both the Italians and
the United States. For several years, Lawrence was
the Executive Director of the the Commission on
Cultural Exchange between the U.S. and Italy (the
Fulbright Commission). Wow - quite a résumé!
Bill
Daily '58 is now in Niceville, Florida, just
across the bridge from Destin, Florida.
Ronald Harvey '63 has now retired and spends his
free time on the golf course.
Brad
Scott '91 is currently the head football coach
at DeSoto High School where he is also teaching.
This June will mark 15 years of marriage to his
wife, Juli. The couple has two boys, Hayden (9) and
Mason (6), and lives in Western Shawnee.
Kurt
Fahey '78 is the Regional Manager of Schwaab
Marking Products, currently in his 14th year with
the company. He and his wife Janet are celebrating
20 years of marriage and now reside in nearby
Overland Park, Kansas.
James
Houston Turner's '69 recent U.S. book launch for
his latest novel, The Identity Factor, was
the first author event to ever be featured at the
presitigious "G'day USA" fesitivites in L.A., which
last year honored Russell Crowe and Australia's
"Crocodile Hunter," the late Steve Irwin. Now
living in Adelaide, South Australia, James will be a
featured breakfast speaker in May at the NAFSA
convention in Washington DC. Last year's guest from
Adelaide was astronaut Andy Thomas.
Ross
Hartley '70 is now retired and living in
beautiful Jackson Hole, Wyoming with his wife,
Chris-Anne (Ness) Hartley. The couple have two
daughters, Hillary and Toni, who are both grown and
married, along with a son, Will, who is a student at
Montana State University. If you're ever in the
area, Ross says that there is always an open room
for a Gamma Theta brother!
Eric
Ericckson '58 is hard at work on a new C.D.
entitled Saturday Night and Sunday Morning, a
blues-based album of original songs. He plays lots
of duplicate bridge and is even a Bronze Life
master...in his words, "not bad for a honky blues
singer"!! Eric spends his summers in Minnesota
beating his kids & grandkids on the golf course.
Wade
Fothergill '87 is proud to say that he has the
same "sweet, smart, beautiful wife" and three great
kids (sounds like Wade's wife might be checking out
BakerDelts.com!!). Wade's business is going great
and he is living the dream.
Don
Rogers '69 recently returned from a great trip
to Australia where he went to visit his son and
daughter-in-law who are living there for a year on
business. Don now celebrates six grandchildren
between two and eight years old.

James McCurry '63 is now semi-retired from Blue
Cross & Blue Shield. He is now busy spending his
time trying to keep up with the kids and is
expecting his first grandchild in March 2008! Paul
"Full Moon" Joiner - if you read this - he says that
he is waiting on a phone call for you two to head to
the Ozarks to do some fishing. No excuses!
Donald Niemeyer '91 recently completed a second
masters degree, this one in IT Management. He and
his wife, Rhonda, are celebrating the one year
anniversary of becoming parents in Feb. 2007. They
have a baby girl, Charliese Renee.
Roger
Underwood '65 is retired and living the good
life in Florida with his wife of over 25 years,
Brenda. The happy couple still enjoys traveling
extensively, their five grandchildren and
frequenting Disneyworld.

Robins '04 has moved to Coffeeville, Kansas
where he is working as an environmental specialist
at the Coffeeville Resources Refinery.

Joiner '63 recently retired from 38 years of
teaching and administration - sounds like a well
deserved break! He now spends his time trying to
keep up with sports with his five grandsons.

Wehmhoener '05 is now at Iowa State University
where he is working on his masters degree in
journalism.

Cook '06 has moved to Oklahoma and is working in
West Texas as a Petroleum Landman.

Gastelum '07 has recently graduated from B.U.
and is working around the Baldwin area as a
substitute teacher. He is hoping to land a
permanent position as a social studies teacher for
Jr./Sr. High School.

Williams '71 is now the Senior Vice President of
Investments for Oppenheimer & Co. in Kansas City,
MO.
Joe
Zubeck '01 and his wife Erin (Smithmier, Baker
Alpha Chi '01) celebrated the birth of their first
child, Madison Elaine, in March of 2006. Joe is
currently the Senior Sales Manager for imageQUEST in
the Kansas City area. Congrats to you both!

Wiedemann '88 and his wife Gina recently
celebrated 17 years of marriage together! The happy
couple, along with their two sons Jordan (14) and
Bryce (8) call South Bend, Indiana home. Todd is
currently the principal at South Bend's John Adams
High School, which has about 1,800 students.
Jay
Scott '93 and his wife Amy welcomed the arrival
of their second son, Colin, in May of 2007. His
brother, Brogan (5), has really taken a liking to
baby brother! Jay is currently in his first year as
an assistant principal at Shawnee Heights High
School in Tecumseh, Kansas near Topeka.

Gaylor '07 has moved to Ohio since graduation
where is working for the Cincinnati Insurance
Company as a commercial underwriter.

Houston Turner '69 reports that after 30
years, "The Identity Factor" is finally available on
Amazon.com and corks are popping Down Under!

Good '04 and his wife Dottie (Patterson, Baker
Alpha Chi '04) recently celebrated the birth of
their first child, Silas David, born October 4,
2007. All three are doing well and Silas will
likely be hunting and have a moustache before
Christmas! Congratulations, Good family!
Jesse
Bennett '99 and his wife recently celebrated the
birth of their second child, Brynn, born June 18,
2007. They are also getting comfortable in their
new home at Prairie Highlands Golf Course in Kansas
City.

Leimer '84 has been employed with Kraft Foods
Global, Inc. for the past 20 years. For 19 of
those, he has been married to his wife Nikki. He
has a son Adam (27) who is working in various fields
of music and video recording and a daughter Amanda
who is a sophomore at Southern Mississippi
University.
Brandon Huddleston '02 is an associate Doctor of
Chiropractic at Maximal Health, in Irving, TX. He
is working towards opening his own practice in the
next six months near downtown DFW. Good luck!
Kevin
Fitzgerald '04 has now been married for nearly
two years to his wife Megan (Dailey, Baker Zeta
'04). He is also in chiropractic school and plans
to finish in December of 2008.
Toddy
Frye '04 is working as a purchasing agent at a
manufacturing firm and even finds time to hold seats
on the local school board and city council in his
town.
Murray Blackwelder '69 recently wrapped up a
$1.7 billion national campaign for Purdue in June of
2007. As a Senior V.P. for Advancement at the
University, he says that he was fortunate to work
with a national campaign committee of 55 alumni in
order to make the seven year effort a huge success.

Spear '61, who retired five years ago from Penn
State University, has settled in on six months
living in Nova Scotia and six months in Green
Valley, AZ. He and his wife Nancy (Boudrot, Baker
Alpha Chi '62) also celebrated the arrival of their
sixth grandchild in September of 2007.
Craig
Leitnaker '79 wanted to pass along that he is
still employed at the American Airlines maintenance
base in Kansas City as a systems analyst.
Trenton Murphy '02 moved to the Pacific
northwest earlier this year and now resides in
beautiful Washington state.
Oliver Kurtz '04 and his wife Becki (Ward, Baker
Zeta '04) had their first child, a girl named
Addison Jo, on April 30, 2007. Congratulations!
Bradford Lob '84
recently sold his business in order to take a
position with Lodgeworks, a company which owns and
operates hotels around the United States! Also, his
daughter is now a junior at BU, his son is a senior
in high school, and he and his wife just celebrated
their 21st year of marriage - wow!
Zach Good '04
and his wife Dottie (Patterson, Alpha Chi '04) are
expecting their first child - he is due this
October. As if that weren't enough, Zach is also
leaving his managerial job at Wal-Mart in order to
take a position with Spears Manufacturing in Caney,
KS. Congratulations and GOOD LUCK!
Dave Johns '89
is currently calling Gardner, KS "home". He
is selling real estate and has taken up coaching,
helping out the 3rd and 6th grade Gardner Blazers
football teams!
Jim Carr '71
was recently appointed boy's basketball coach at
Olathe South High School. After spending the past
16 years as an assistant for the team, Jim will do a
terrific job at the helm!
Ron Holden '95
was recently elected to the Minor League
Football Hall of Fame. Ron, who also still serves
DTD as the House Father, played several years as a

Richard McDowell '60
is enjoying retirement in New Mexico where
golf rules supreme. He has also picked up the
guitar again and is even playing in a couple of
Bluegrass bands!
Cecil Miller '53
and his wife are back in Colorado for the summer
trying to enjoy the cool weather.

Bartley '98 has started
medical school at Lincoln Memorial University -
DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Knoxville,
TN (I don't have a clue what that is but it sounds
really difficult!). He and his wife Shannon are
working on getting accustomed to life in the south,
but they're getting there - slowly but surely.

Jake
Barron '01 and his wife Lindsay had TRIPLETS in
December - two boys (Hudson and Carter) and one girl
(Ella). After getting married in 2004, the couple
now make their home in Hurst, Texas.
Congratulations, Jake! (P.S. Don't let those kids
become Sooner fans - it just leads to a life of
disappointment).
James
Houston Turner '69 recently completed "The
Identity Factor," his third novel. It is a
geopolitical thriller described as "one hell of a
ride" by film productive executive Ty Warren
(Gladiator, The Mummy). He is also one step closer
to seeing his feature film script for "Big John"
make it to production. Congratulations on all your

Torrey Meade '00 and his wife Valerie recently
had a baby in December of last year, a baby boy
named Tharron. Sounds like a future Delt!
Jarrod Steffens '04 was married in June 2007 to
his new bride Sarah (Jensen, Baker Zeta '04). The
newlyweds are living in Harrisonville, MO, where
Jarrod is coaching football for the defending State
Champion Wildcats!

Anderson '03 was married on May 6, 2006, to
fellow Baker Alum Laura Wells (Baker Zeta '05) in
Elmdale, KS. The happy couple currently live and
work in Denver, CO. |
